Professional Belly Dance Costumes Museum :)

Many of my dresses cost me lot's of money, because it's from costume designers who were very expensive before Internet times, plus the materials they were using were done by stones and glass sowed in very expensive textiles, not by plastic like nowadays, some of these dresses I have weight them and some eve are 7kg and 10kg. Nowadays a costume weight about 1 to 3kg as a maximum.

 

I feel sorry to sell them also because some of their designers are comparable to the Christian Dior in occidental world, and they have died and now these bellydance dresses value it's much more higher than when they were new, so I am even thinking of keeping them and do an online museum for each of them, each has it's own adventures & experiences, these experiences I will share them over here, I hope you like them.

Making an order to buy a Unique dress made for you

Many students when they come to Egypt for just few days want to have a unique bellydance dress made only for them selfs, my experience it's that better make the order with at least 3 weeks in advance, otherwise will be very difficult for you to have a wonderful dress done in less time.

Before Internet, was very easy, you will go to the factory (women at the house of the costume designer sitting on sofas sowing all day by hand or with a mashine), and make the order and after all night work, maybe 20 women in the same dress, you will have a beautiful dress done only for you at the next day.

Nowadays as there is a big demand in bellydance dresses all around the world, there it's a long waiting list, the factories normally gets first the big orders than the small orders. If you just want 1 dress, you will find that takes lot's of time, almost 1 month, and not because of the amount of work with that dress, but because they have other orders before than yours, and too many orders.
